CLUCK!
Friday, July 24, 2009
I am bummed, I didn't get one of the transformer boxes. Oh well, maybe next year. The only problem is that the same judges will be there next year......
Go on, I have been very blessed with some really outstanding projects where there was no competition, the people just liked my work...Thanks to all of them thruout the years!
I have some really big projects coming up anyway...I am doing more work for the Ft Collins High School so that will be taking up a lot of my time! Lots of window changes now that the summer will be coming to a close. I can't believe that school starts on the 17th at the HS, the kids don't get much of a summer anymore.
Hope everyone has a beautiful weekend.

Loveland Transformer box project
I am so excited to see if I am one chosen to paint a transformer box Loveland. I had fun doing sketches for them. Even if I don't get a spot, here are my sketches, hope you like them.
The first one is Funky Town, since it might be right downtown.
The second one is "Indigionous Bugs on little heart flowers'' I am prepared to put flys, wasps, dragonflys, ants, spiders, rolly pollies, and any other bug I can think of that lurks around here!!

Day with the folks
On my last post I said 2 birthdays, my Mothers's birthday is soon also. We went there today. They are getting older and I wish that I could see them much more than I do now. I would have loved to stay longer but there are always pressing things.
I watched a movie on the web called 'The Journey Home' documenting a family named Wallers last night when my husband went to watch the fights. It was about a succesful family that had 5 children but the parents were always working. They decided to go opposite and join a community of mennonites(spelling) They had no electricity and learned to make a living from the land and actually prosper. Then they bought another farm and also had part in a country store, they were so happy and their children were so happy that others would come just to be apart of the way they lived and the love that was there. The story hasn't ended, they now have 10 children and have moved to Isreal to spread their kind of love there and to help them learn more about raising crops. The people there flock to this loving family as they did here.
After watching it, I felt so sad that our lives are what they are, attached to computers, TVs, video games, movies, phones etc. We don't see the beauty in our childrens faces, our children don't see it in us! We all see much more in our 'things' than we do that which is the most important, our relationships.
So today, when seeing my parents, I wished that I didn't have to hurry home, I wished I could have stayed and talked for hours. I need to go with my gut because there will come a day when they are not here and Idon't want so many regrets!

4th of July musing
4th of July, it always sneaks up on me!
Outdoor businesses like mine tend to get busy when the weather is nice so we have been busy lately.
We have done a lot of work in Denver which is unusual but entertaining and adventurous. Yesterday the google map was wrong, thank God we had a full tank of gas!
I tend to eat more when we go somewhere different, it is the different foods that I don't get to eat everyday! I love the non'franchise mom and pop restaurants. Yesterday it was a little mexican food restaurant in Montbello on Chambers called La Villa.
In the midst of all of this, Kit is up in the mountains with his two boys and their friends and the 2 pups.
I do miss StellaRoo because no matter what happened that day she is sooooo glad to see me.
Pokey had to stay home with me which was OK with her since she is close to 11 and content to lay around all day long!
I will be happy to see all of them tonight, Kit, the kids, the dogs!
This weekend has 2 birthdays (my sis and my son in law) and my parent's 62nd wedding anniversary! Plus it is a holiday weekend.
One never knows what we will be doing.
Donna and I have put so much into 3 days that I would be content to curl up on the sofa and SLEEP!
More to come.....stay tuned.

Black Mouth Cur Dogs
Yesterday I got the BMC bug. I had a black mouth cur mix that I absolutly loved, they are the most loyal dogs, ready to defend you, wanting to be right by you at all times.
My first one, Buck died suddenly in 2008. I couldn't stand it so within a week I found a breeder in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I took the runt of the litter and named her StellaRoo. Roo because my first one, Buckwheat used to 'roo' at me all the time. Stella hasn't yet but you never know, they are smart dogs.
Let me know if you are familiar with this breed or if you have pictures of them.
Old Yellar was a black mouth cur.... the article and pictures of my cur are here!
these are Buckwheat
the ones below are StellaRoo as a puppy.
these are Stella Parents...
Here she is all grown up

One of my favorite artists
I love going to http://www.dailypainters.com/ every day. There are many great painters there, but my all time favorite is Andrzej Filipowicz. I can't even begin to pronounce his name, he is from Warsaw, Poland. Just feast your eyes on these!
I can just imagine how chunky the paint is on these paintings. I hope to get him more fans! Just one more!!!

Tattooing a car
I have a friend who says she is too old to tattoo her body, so she tattoos her car!!
she seems to think that I can paint anything, so these are the kind of things she has had me paint.
This one she had to ask permission: his website is www.canvasfish.com
I love it when people challange me to paint something!! Bring it on!

3 T Chocolate chips(optional)
small splash vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug-micro safe

Spring/Summer Beauty is all around.....
What Beauty our God has given us
right outside our door..
Even the weeds are beautiful...
If I could bottle the scent of these, I could make a million bucks!! They are not hybreds, and they smell of grape koolaid and vanilla, the scent is heady.
