February 22, 2012

The Lord is so good....the more chaos in the world, the more He draws me to calm. In that calm He has blessed me with this new world of art that I honestly did not know where it came from!

Since Christmas, and the watercolors, a cosmetics company approached me to do 8 watercolor gals for their labels.  As soon as I have the watermarks for her, then I will post the pictures.

One after another, they just flowed!   So, now I did  one for myself today.  It was too unnatural to have a day that I didn't paint one, so... I will continue.

Enjoy!

New Beginnings

Wow, what a terrific start to a New Year.   I have decided to do more paintings, for myself, to develope the style that is in my head.   I needed to declutter my mind.   The paintings that have been happening since then are exactly what was in my mind.

I even talked to a gallery in town and he thought I had some promise, so I am going to attempt 3 to 4 of each medium.  The framing is in my brain also....so this is a new adventure for me.

I am thankful for my window painting, and getting out to see customers also, I would miss that if it ever came to it.

But it is fitting better into my scedule since I downsized.

Christmas Light overcomes Chaos

I finally got some time off, Wow, what a season!
the past few days have really been a respite for me. A chance to stay home and contemplate what my next steps are .

This whole year has seemed chaotic and spinning, between family, business, events in the US and the world, I am again humbled that the Father of all chose me to be one of HIS!

So, one of the things that I have tried over this period of time was a loose abstract, which is very foreign to me. It came out so easily, every stroke with precision, purpose. It was exciting to paint.

It wasn't until after, looking at it , that it came to me exactly what it represented.

To me, it is a picture of a glimmer of what we are going to see in the not so distant future. That the LORD OF LIGHT, will, eventually come and overtake the chaos of this world.

So, the title is. LIGHT OVERCOMES CHAOS

Just a catch up...

This is the day the Lord has made......so...I took the day off. I tried to sit on the couch and found out I couldn't....I just get ansy.

One of the Lord's commandments is to keep the Sabboth, and rest.  I have learned over the years that I MUST take one day off a week or I get over~stressed then I get sick =-[    So, I have learned one of the many reasons that God told us to rest.

I did putz in the greenhouse, replanted the tomato seedlings that I planted as seeds about a month ago, they are up about 3". I turned my head right at the right time to tell Ranger to NOT EAT THEM!!  She saw green and loves salad and grass....I could just see that...poof, there go the tomatos...LOL!!  I planted more Stevia, the first seeds did nothing.  I wonder how strawberries would grow indoors, anyone ever try it?   If we were to sustain ourselves, where would we get FRUIT?????? It saddens me to see all of the orchards gone, and the ppl with trees just let the fruit rot........what a sad, wasteful generation we have been. We have taken so much for granted!

The days are getting so short. I am thankful for the joy of painting holiday windows to make the first part of winter bearable. We are usuallly home by around 4 when the sun is getting ready to go down.=-[   Fashion goes out the door with the cold....warmth is the order of the day!!

Well, caught up for now....pictures next time, maybeeee.

Thank you Lord!!!!

Why is it............

I wish that I had the passion for what I do when I was younger...I had the drive, yeah, but Passion? That is now coming since I seem to have found my nitch, my style if you will....

Too bad that we don't know things younger, or that we can't unzip someones brain and pour in what we know and zip em back up! LOL

I am blessed, always have been. Maybe not from someone else s point of view, but....I don't want to be rich...especially if it is offa someone else s back!! I don't want a big house.....I would have to clean it.....I don't want acreage because I would be responsible for it. I want to be me...and I thank God for that!

I always wanted to be a famous oil painter.....Guess what...I am .......LOL

But yes, I tried oil painting...I absolutely love it, tried to get commissions on ebay..It happened....20 paintings at the same time I had Christmas windows up the wazooo......I did it...but never again during the holiday season!

On my website. Go to the 'oil paintings' page for a sample of what I have done.....they are all different!! I haven't found my own style there though....it is coming!! I FEEL IT!!

May the Lord Bless you and keep you!

January gives us the hope of spring, not too long away, really! Blessings to all!

BLOCKBUSTER

We spent November and December painting 107 Blockbuster Video stores all over Colorado. From Ft Collins and Ft Morgan to Pueblo, Colorado Springs, then over I70 to Grand Junction and up to Steamboat!

What an adventure! We had fun, ate way too much but boy did we work!! And drive, did we ever! my car was terrific and I thank God that we got them all done before the big temperature drop happened close to Christmas.
The people were so friendly...as you can see in the picture, ha ha, he was a hoot and wouldn't get out of the way for me to take the picture, so I told him to say hi!!
I am so blessed in my family, I am so blessed in my friends, I am so blessed in my business, I am even blessed with the best pets in the world, Thank you, Lord for my life!

THOUGHTS ON GOLD

I have been thinking about gold a lot lately, probably because of all of those commercials....'mail us your jewelry and we will send you a check' yah right. I thought, who in their right mind would do that? Either it would get ' lost' in the mail, or they would say that what you sent was not real gold, or they would need more money to send it back. Maybe I'm being pessimistic...

Another thing about gold going up so much in price, who would want to buy gold now? Is it a good idea to buy something when the price has skyrocketed? Or are we all scared it may never come down again?

I always wanted a big ol 1 oz gold coin, but if our nation ever fell or a catastrophic event happened to where we would have to barter, you couldn't break down that big ol coin, so you tell the person with the food, here is my gold coin, they snatch it and you are through, no change for you. How about collecting gold little increments at a time so when or if that time came you could take out, say a gold chain and get a little food at a time. Or maybe a better idea would be silver. Just saying that it FEELs good to have a huge chunk of gold, but it is soo not practical.

If any one knows how to go about buying stock in gold, please let me know, that is the way I would love to do it.

I am bummed, I didn't get one of the transformer boxes. Oh well, maybe next year. The only problem is that the same judges will be there next year......

Go on, I have been very blessed with some really outstanding projects where there was no competition, the people just liked my work...Thanks to all of them thruout the years!

I have some really big projects coming up anyway...I am doing more work for the Ft Collins High School so that will be taking up a lot of my time! Lots of window changes now that the summer will be coming to a close. I can't believe that school starts on the 17th at the HS, the kids don't get much of a summer anymore.

Hope everyone has a beautiful weekend.

Loveland Transformer box project

I am so excited to see if I am one chosen to paint a transformer box Loveland. I had fun doing sketches for them. Even if I don't get a spot, here are my sketches, hope you like them.
The first one is Funky Town, since it might be right downtown.

The second one is "Indigionous Bugs on little heart flowers'' I am prepared to put flys, wasps, dragonflys, ants, spiders, rolly pollies, and any other bug I can think of that lurks around here!!

Cool looking sky

We were on our way home yesterday when we eyed this, at first we thought it was a tornado but as we got closer is looked like God's bucket pouring his grace down all at once!
